OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE LISBON ECO MARATHON 2026 | APRIL 12, 2026
This regulation establishes the rights, obligations and responsibilities of all parties involved in the preparation, organization, participation and execution of the Sports Event.
1. ORGANIZATION
The Lisbon Eco Marathon sports event (hereinafter referred to as “Event”) will take place on the dayApril 12, 2026, and is organized by the following entity: Clube Desportivo e Recreativo Chronos, legal entity no. 514798998, registered at the Commercial Registry Office of Lisbon, with headquarters at AV. Engo Duarte Pacheco no. 19 – 6o Dto, in Lisbon,
In collaboration with the following entities:
Stream Plan, LDA., legal entity with registration number 513381619, registered at the Commercial Registry Office of Lisbon, with registered office at Avenida Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, no. 19, 6th Floor, in Lisbon,
The aforementioned entities organize the Event, which is exclusively and mandatorily contested by duly registered and accepted participants and under the terms set out in these Regulations.
Hereinafter referred to as “Organization”.
Due to logistical issues, the Lisbon Eco Marathon is limited to 3000 places, across the four reference distances - Marathon 42km; Half Marathon 21km; Mini Marathon 13km and Walk 8km (approx).
The organization reserves the necessary places for you to meet your commitments.
2. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Participation is open to all interested parties, regardless of nationality or gender, provided they are duly registered in accordance with these regulations.
Minimum age for participation for the 42 km and 21 km distances: participants who have turned 18 by the date of the event.
Minimum age for participation for 12 km distances: participants who have turned 14 by the date of the event.
Minor participants must present and submit to the Organization, on the date of delivery of the kit, a declaration of responsibility from the person responsible for parental authority.
There is no minimum age for participation in the Walk; children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and on the day the kit is delivered, they must present a written and signed declaration by the person responsible for parental authority, authorizing their participation.
The organization's liability for insurance ends when the official timing of the event ends and/or when the last participant reaches the finish line, whether within or outside the cut-off time. (See point "2.5 Insurance" of these regulations).
Participation with mobility aids, namely bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or wheelchairs, accompanied by animals or baby strollers will not be permitted.
It is also prohibited to accompany participants during the route in any type of vehicle, motorized or not.
Upon registration, participants or their respective guardians or holders of parental authority declare, under their own responsibility, that they meet the health requirements necessary to participate in the event and that they will refrain from participating if such conditions change. Participants must meet the health requirements necessary for physical exertion. By registering, participants acknowledge, at the time of registration, that they feel physically and psychologically prepared for the physical exertion inherent in the sporting event in which they will participate. The Organization is not responsible for any accidents, incidents, illnesses, and other situations arising from health conditions that may occur before, during, or after participation in the sporting event.
Participants/athletes who comply with the provisions of these Regulations may participate in the Event.
3. REGISTRATION
Registration is done exclusively on the official website of the event:

Only registrations made through the aforementioned website will be accepted, on the following dates and upon payment of the respective registration fee, as detailed:

Registrations will be accepted at the secretariat on April 11th. These registrations will incur a €20 surcharge on the prices indicated above for the last phase, subject to availability.
* Free registration for children up to 8 years old.
Registrations are open and close on the dates indicated on the website for each edition, which are referred to as "Reference".
PREMIUM REGISTRATION-For an additional fee of €28.00 and only until March 15, 2026, it includes:
- Lunch;
- Sports Massage.
4. DATE/TIME
The Lisbon Eco Marathon will take place on April 12, 2026, Sunday. Departure and arrival will be at Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira, Parque Eduardo VII.

5. CUTTING TIMES
The Lisbon Eco Marathon is an event comprising four single-stage distances, each lasting a maximum of 6 hours. The starting time of the 42km Marathon distance is used for this purpose, resulting in a 2:30 p.m. finish line cutoff time. After this time, all participants will be disqualified.
Time barriers are calculated to allow participants to reach the finish line within the imposed time limit, taking into account possible stops [rest, refueling, etc.].
At the last supply point, approximately 5km from the finish line, and common to all distances, the cut-off time will be 1:30 pm, after which all athletes will be considered disqualified and prevented from continuing in the race.
For reasons of force majeure [meteorological and/or security], the organization reserves the right to change the time barrier.

7. PARTICIPATION KIT
MARATHON, HALF MARATHON AND MINI MARATHON
The athlete's participation kit consists of a t-shirt commemorating the event, a paper bib number with a non-detachable chip, and a bracelet for the coat rack.
The available t-shirt sizes are: S, M, L, XL, and XXL. Sizes will be distributed based on orders placed at the time of registration.
Participation kits will be collected on April 11th, between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm, at a designated tent located next to the National Flag on Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira (Alto do Parque Eduardo VII). On April 12th, from 7:00 am until the time of the last departure.
8. PLACEMENT OF THE DORSAL NUMBER / CHIP
The use of the race number is mandatory for all participants.
The race number must be permanently visible throughout the race, that is, it must be positioned over the clothing, on the chest, abdomen or on the front of the thigh, and cannot, for any reason, be fixed to the back.
The bib number and chip are encoded for each participant and are personal and non-transferable.
The name and any logo of the sponsors cannot be modified or hidden.
Only participants with a visible bib number will have access to the control/supply stations.
The organization is not responsible for failure to display results resulting from negligent handling, improper placement, and/or damage to the chip. The coat rack bracelet must be placed visibly on the bag/backpack.
WALK
The athlete's standard participation kit consists of a race-related t-shirt and a wristband that gives access to the cloakroom.
T-shirt sizes: S, M, L, XL and XXL.
Participation kits will be collected on April 11th, between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm, at a designated tent located next to the National Flag on Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira (Alto do Parque Eduardo VII). On April 12th, from 7:00 am until the time of the last departure.
9. SAFETY AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The organization provides medical support to all participating athletes, providing first aid equipment during the course and at the start/finish.
If there is a need for continued emergency medical care, this will be
provided in a public or private health unit, under the responsibility of the same.
The organization, in collaboration with the police, will regulate traffic during the race, but will not be held responsible for any accidents or damages caused between participants or to third parties by the participants.
10. RULES OF GOOD CONDUCT
Participants undertake, under oath of honor, to respect the following rules, which they declare to know, accept and respect:
Respect the test regulations;
Respect the Organization's rules and recommendations;
Respect the schedules and specific requirements for each distance, as set out by the organizer.
Respect the proper use of your equipment.
Respect the organization's representatives.
Respect the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the competition and that of your opponents.
All Participants undertake to have exemplary public behavior during the Event, which cannot, in any way, jeopardize the good name and reputation of the organization and its partners, sponsors and other participants.
11. DOPING BAN
Doping is prohibited for all athletes, both inside and outside the event. Each athlete has a duty to ensure that they do not introduce or have any prohibited substance introduced into their body or use any prohibited method.
Athletes are held personally responsible for any prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers found in their organic samples, as well as for the use of any prohibited method.
12. DISQUALIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS
The organization will not allow participation in the event/will disqualify any Participant who exhibits any of the following behaviors:
Falsify any information related to your registration;
Do not show up for departure at the time and place indicated;
Do not follow the organization's instructions;
Are not in a physical or psychological condition to participate;
Do not have a bib number;
Do not display your bib number in a visible manner in the places specified by the organization;
Use another athlete's bib number;
Fold or manipulate the advertising on the bib;
Inappropriately use the bib provided;
Do not follow the signs posted by the organization and jump the fences to the start;
Do not completely follow the established route;
Manifest unsportsmanlike behavior (e.g., pushing and obstructing others that intentionally harm them);
Consumption of doping substances;
Do not respect other participants, the organization itself, security agents and other event support personnel.
Disregard the basic principles of cleanliness and environmental preservation;
Adopt postures or attitudes that in any way harm the image and good name of the event and the organization.
13. ECO-RESPONSIBILITY
Participants are required to conduct themselves responsibly with regard to cleanliness and environmental preservation in all areas used during the race, from the race route to the start and finish areas. Throwing waste onto the ground is strictly prohibited before, during, and at the end of the race. When applicable, participants are responsible for keeping any leftover food and beverage containers used for refilling during the race. At the end of the race and in areas along the route, the organizers will provide containers for the disposal of athletes' trash. Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate exclusion from the race and a ban on participation in other events organized by the organization.
14. ROUTES
The routes of the four distances run through the Monsanto forest park, starting and finishing at Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira - Alto do Parque Eduardo VII).
15. TIME CONTROL METHODOLOGY
An electronic time control system will be used using mats and reading antennas and chips.
The chip located on the dorsal will only be read if it is placed securely, without creasing it.
The organization is not responsible for failure to present results resulting from negligent handling, misplacement and/or deterioration of the chip.
16. SUPPLIES
The transport of non-reusable packaging is not permitted.
Any participant who throws any packaging or other product on the floor will be automatically disqualified.
The organization will provide the following refueling points.
Marathon (42 km):

17. LEVELS
Grades will be awarded in the following categories:
All athletes whose age, on the date of the race, falls within the following ranges may register for the Lisbon Eco Marathon:

* - The minimum age for participation in the 42 km and 21 km distances of the Lisbon Eco Marathon is, for both genders, 18 years old (Juniors), being included in the “Seniors” category.
* - The minimum age for participation in the 12 km distance of the Lisbon Eco
Marathon is, for both genders, 14 years old (Juniors), being included in the “Seniors” category.
All athletes who are minors on the date of the event must be accompanied by a liability waiver signed by their parent/guardian.
Whenever requested by the organization, athletes must present an identification document (ID card, or other official document), under penalty of not being awarded the respective prize(s).
18. PAYMENT METHODS
The payment methods available to subscribers residing in Portugal are: MULTIBANCO and MB WAY
Payment methods have a 48-hour deadline, after which the subscriber must request new payment details.
Athletes residing outside of Portugal can pay via Paypal or credit card.
19. CHANGES
a) Changing data between athletes requires an additional fee of €5.
b) Requests to change distances within the Lisbon Eco Marathon program (42km, 21km, and 12km) will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on March 31st. The organization will not provide refunds if the registration to be changed is more expensive than the registration for the desired distance. If the desired distance costs more than the previously registered distance, the participant will be asked to pay the difference between the registration price at the time of this request and the amount paid.
20. REGISTRATION FEE REFUND CONDITIONS
A refund may only be requested when a participant has proven to be unable to take part in the race, provided that this is associated with an accident or an illness diagnosed after registering for the race.
Cancellations must be requested by email to lisbonecomarathon@clubechronos.com . A medical certificate must be attached to this request.
Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted.
21. CLOSING OF REGISTRATION
Online registration closes on April 5, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
The organization may, at any time, suspend or extend deadlines, or add or limit the number of registrations for the event based on technical/structural needs/availability, without prior notice.
Registrations will be accepted at the secretariat on April 11th. These registrations will incur a €20 surcharge on the prices indicated above for the last phase, subject to availability.
22. INSURANCE
Participants must meet the necessary health requirements for sports. Upon registration, they assume they feel physically and psychologically prepared for the physical exertion inherent in the event in which they will participate.
All participants, without exception, must meet the health requirements necessary to participate in sports, exempting the event organizers, their partners, supporters and public bodies involved from any liability.
The event organizers provide personal accident insurance to registered athletes. All participating athletes, registered according to the procedure described in these regulations, benefit from insurance to cover personal accidents that occur during the event.

This insurance has a deductible of 90 euros, which is the responsibility of the injured party.
The organization's liability in terms of insurance ends when the official timing of the event ends.
23. CLASSIFICATIONS
The classification by age group will be published within 24 hours of the end of the race. These classifications will serve only to position athletes within their age group based on their time and will not be used to award prizes and/or trophies.
For classification purposes, only the real time will be considered for each distance, from the start until the finish line is crossed.
Deadline for complaining about classifications:
Any and all complaints must be submitted in writing to the President of the Jury, accompanied by a deposit of €50.00 [non-refundable if the complaint is rejected] within two hours of the arrival of the participant in question. The complaint must include the name of the complainant, ID/CC number or passport, name of the participant(s) affected, bib number and the reasons given.
Provisional classifications may also be subject to complaints, up to 15 minutes after their publication.
The competition Jury, which will analyze the complaint, is composed of the Jury President, the Race Director, and one or more representatives of the entities responsible for organizing the event, totaling 5 members.
The Jury will pronounce itself before the official results are posted. Participants also have three days to submit corrections to their classifications.
24. AWARDS
All participants in the competitive distances who complete them will receive an exclusive “finisher souvenir” from the event, and will be able to download the participation certificate from the official event website.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three men and women in the three events at a formal podium ceremony, as well as to the largest team (Clubs and Companies). Digital certificates of qualification will be awarded to the top three men and women in each age group in the three events.
The awards will be presented at the official awards ceremony. Attendance at the ceremony is a moment designed to honor the winners and partners who make the event possible, so there will be no awards ceremony after the event.
25. CLOTHING ROOM SERVICE
The organization ensures the temporary storage of the athletes' belongings in the 3 distances, in the area of the race secretariat, and they must ensure that they are properly stored and closed, in order to avoid the loss of objects and/or valuables, a situation for which the organization is not responsible.
The organization is not responsible for the loss, theft or deterioration of participants' property.
26. POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION OF THE TEST
Various reasons may force the organization to suspend, postpone, or cancel the race, as well as make changes to the location, schedule, or route. In any of these situations, there is no breach of contract, and the organization cannot be held liable, nor is it obligated to compensate any athlete, person, or entity financially or in any other way.
27. DATA PROTECTION
The Lisbon Eco Marathon organization fully complies with current data protection laws. Athletes acknowledge and authorize the entry and processing of your personal data in the event organization's files for use in development, administrative and commercial management, and other activities. Athletes must indicate the name they wish to see on their race number, entry lists, and final standings, which will be published on the event website. The privacy policy, however, allows any athlete to request the modification or removal of their data by sending an email to: lisbonecomarathon@clubechronos.com
By confirming your registration, the participant authorizes being contacted by Stop&Go, Stream Plan and Clube Desportivo e Recreativo Chronos via telephone, SMS and email for the following purposes:

Additionally, if the Participant gives his/her authorization at the time of Registration, he/she authorizes the Organization to:
Process personal data received by the Organization or generated as a result of registration for the Event, for the purpose of carrying out general commercial actions or those tailored to your profile, by any means (letter, telephone, email, SMS, MMS, instant messaging applications, etc.) regarding products or services of the Organization and companies belonging to the Podium Events, SA group of companies or related to the organization and holding of events, sports events and competitions, merchandising or similar activities, for the period of time stipulated by the Organization in its internal data retention policies. The Participant may revoke this authorization at any time.
The Participant may exercise at any time the rights of access, rectification, cancellation/erasure, opposition, limitation and portability, recognized in the regulations in force, regarding the protection of personal data, by contacting the Organization by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the address Avenida Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, n.o 19, 6,.o Dto, 1070- 100 Lisbon or by email lisbonecomarathon@clubechronos.com
Without prejudice to the Participant being able to exercise the rights previously indicated, the Organization will keep the personal data provided by the Participant and generated as a result of registration and/or participation in the sports event, for the duration of the event, as well as during the limitation period of legal actions that either party may file.
After the aforementioned period, the Organization may retain the personal data processed for the purpose of identifying former participants in order to offer them discounts and promotional campaigns at future events, as well as to be able to make the Organization's products and services available to them, provided they have previously authorized this.

28. IMAGE RIGHTS
Registration for the event and subsequent acceptance of these regulations necessarily implies the participant's authorization for the organization to record all or part of their participation, and the participant may freely use these images to publicize and promote the event in all media (television, radio, press, internet, posters, cards and flyers, photos and videos). The participant hereby grants all image rights relating to the commercial and advertising exploitation of these recordings, without the right to receive any financial compensation from the organization.
29. COMMERCIAL AND ADVERTISING RIGHTS
The Organization exclusively holds the advertising and commercial rights of the Event, and is responsible for negotiating and managing such rights on behalf of and in the interest of all participants, sponsors, partners and other entities.
The Organization holds the exclusive right to receive, retain and distribute all revenues arising from the exploitation of commercial and advertising rights.
All contracts or commercial agreements relating to the commercial exploitation of the Event must be scrupulously respected by participants. Participants must make every effort to ensure compliance with the obligations assumed in this regard by the Organization.
Unless expressly authorized by the Organization, the Participant is expressly prohibited, during the period of the Event, from posting advertising, in any form, and promoting companies, products, goods, equipment or services.
The Participant is responsible for any costs arising from the use, during the event and at its end, of registered trademarks, patents or intellectual property rights licenses.
If the Organization is sued for having infringed any of the rights mentioned in the previous point, the Participant is obliged to compensate the Organization for all expenses that it may incur as a result and all amounts that it may have to pay for any reason whatsoever.
30. JURY
The organization will set up a Jury, composed of five members of the organization, who will decide on the sanctions to be applied and on all matters related to the event that were not subject to regulation or on misinterpretations of these regulations.
31. SUBSEQUENT SHIPMENTS
If a registered athlete does not participate in the event, nor does their documentation and any gifts be collected from the secretariat, no such material will be sent and can only be collected on site and in accordance with the event program.
32. COMPLAINTS
Any complaints must be submitted in writing to the organization, at the event location or after the race, to the email address: lisbonecomarathon@clubechronos.com
33. OTHERS
The organization is not responsible for any loss or damage that may affect participants' equipment. Participants release the organization from liability for any loss or damage to personal items, under any circumstances.
By registering for the Lisbon Eco Marathon, participants acknowledge and accept these regulations without reservation, waiving any legal action against the organization arising from their participation in the event. These regulations are subject to change. Any changes, additions, or additions to these regulations will be published on the event's official website and will be tacitly accepted if they do not object to any of the rules introduced within a maximum period of eight days from the date of publication, provided they do so in writing to the organization via email.

The organization will set up a Jury, composed of five members of the organization, who will decide on the sanctions to be applied and on all matters related to the event that were not subject to regulation or on misinterpretations of these regulations.
If a registered athlete does not participate in the event, nor does their documentation and any gifts be collected from the secretariat, no such material will be sent and can only be collected on site on the dates of the event.
This regulation is in force from 8 pm on 10/1/2025, repealing all previous provisions or determinations.
34. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERM OF LIABILITY
By registering, all participants accept these regulations and, in case of doubt or if a situation not covered by them arises, they must immediately inform the organization and express their doubts in writing.
By clicking on the checkbox, you are confirming that you agree with the conditions and rules for registration and participation in the Event and all the conditions set out in these Regulations, which is equivalent to declaring the following:

I am aware of my state of health and confirm that I have all the physical and psychological conditions to participate in the Race;
I assume that I will not participate in the Race if my health conditions change after registration;
I am aware of the content of the insurance policy in force;
By participating in the Race, I freely and unconditionally authorize the Organization and its partners to use my image. As such, I grant all rights to use my image, including any photographs and videos taken during the races, and waive any fees that may be earned from its use in supporting communications.
I participate in the Test of my own free will, exempting the Organization, partners, directors, employees and other companies linked to the organization of the Test from liability.
Any liability resulting from my participation, before, during and after it (such as loss of personal items due to theft, damage, or other circumstances).
I am aware of the conditions for cancelling the Test, which I fully accept.
